(Malaysia).- Genting Malaysia has announced the closure of its flagship integrated resort, Resorts World Genting, plus its three non-gaming resorts for the next two weeks following expansion of the government’s Movement Control Order.

With the MCO now implemented in the state of Pahang, where most of the Highlands resort is located, the properties will close their doors from 22 January until 4 February 2021.
In a statement on its website, RWG said essential resort-based services such as “security, bomba (fire and rescue), utilities and clinics will remain operational.”
Guests booked into hotels on those dates will be required to request a refund or change of date.
RWG had earlier this month said it would operate at reduced capacity and with revised operating hours for some attractions after the government implemented restrictions in some Malaysian states from 13 January. It also reported a handful of positive COVID-19 cases among workers at a staff canteen, a facility not accessible by the public.
RWG and non-gaming properties Resorts World Awana, Resorts World Kijal and Resorts World Langkawi were closed for three months in 2020, from mid-March to mid-June, as the initial wave of COVID-19 spread across the globe.
